Welcome

Linda and Paul welcome you to L'Allée des Marronniers (Chestnut Drive), our beautiful 19th century "Maison Bourgeoise" situated in the Marais Poitevin area of the South Vendee. We are a leisurely drive away from La Rochelle, Poitiers and Nantes airports. The ferry port at St. Malo is only a 3.5 hour drive away.

Our aim is to provide country house hospitality in comfortable, spacious rooms.

We can currently offer Chambre D'Hotes (Bed and Breakfast) accommodation in two stylishly furnished en-suite bedrooms.

For longer stays we have a charming ground floor 2 person studio, 'Le Potager' complete with original large fireplace and attached bread oven.

The area contains a wealth of interest for nature lovers. We are close to the historic town of Maillezais in the Venise Verte region. Known for its pretty rivers, shady canals and peaceful villages, this unspoilt area offers plentiful boating, walking, cycling and horse riding opportunities. Lakeside swimming is 15 minutes and sea bathing an hour away. We are perfectly located for exploring all the splendours and activities that this unique region can offer.
